Notes: This fic was inspired by skating last Christmas at the rink outside the Natural History museum in London, within the shadow of the V&A, which to me means "Ballet Shoes". While "Ballet Shoes" and "White Boots" are not exactly congruent in terms of timeline, let alone there being a skating ring at the Natural History museum at all, but I hope you will overlook these central conceits in order to enjoy to the fic itself.
Summary: Nana watched them from the relative safety of dry land: feeling sorry as she almost always did for Petrova, left in the wake of Posy's heedless excitement and Pauline's pink-and-white prettiness.
